The Diiva champagne glass was unveiled at the Champagne exhibition held at the Finnish Glass Museum in 2005. This event marked the beginning of a glassware collection that has since grown to include 11 pieces. Diiva glasses are still hand-blown at the Nuutajärvi Glass Company’s hot shop.

In 2023, the knowledge, skill, and techniques of handmade glass were granted UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage status. The Diiva glassware series, designed by Markku Salo, is crafted by glassblowers Otto Koivuranta, Teemu Kylvö, and Samuli Parkkinen. The work is done using traditional glassblowing methods at the Nuutajärvi Glass Company’s hot shop. A glassware collection produced entirely by domestic craftsmanship is a rarity in the Finnish context.
